6 Days Southern Safari
Amboseli, Tsavo West, Saltlick & Tsavo East
Introduction
This 6-day safari itinerary offers an immersive journey through four of Kenya’s most diverse and iconic conservation areas:
Amboseli, Tsavo West, the private Taita Hills Sanctuary (home to Salt Lick Lodge), and Tsavo East National Park.
The adventure begins in Amboseli National Park, where you’ll witness massive elephant herds roaming the marshlands under the breathtaking, postcard-perfect backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey then takes you through the dramatic and rugged volcanic landscapes of Tsavo West, visiting the vibrant Mzima Springs and searching for the rare black rhino in its sanctuary.
Next, the trip moves to the unique Salt Lick Safari Lodge within the Taita Hills Sanctuary, where you can watch wildlife gather at a floodlit waterhole right from the comfort of your room.
Finally, the safari culminates by traversing the expansive, arid plains of Tsavo East, famous for its “red elephants” and wide-open savannahs. This itinerary blends varied ecosystems, ensuring a comprehensive Kenyan wildlife experience.
