Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park
Depart Mombasa in the morning and drive along the Mombasa Highway to Tsavo East. Enter the park with a game drive en route to your lodge.
Afternoon game drive exploring the vast plains known for red elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and a variety of antelope.
Overnight: Tsavo East (Voi Safari Lodge / Ashnil Aruba / Similar)
Day 2: Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park
Start the day with a sunrise game drive, then check out and proceed to Tsavo West.
Enter with a game drive, exploring the rugged hills, volcanic formations, and scenic landscapes.
In the afternoon, visit the Mzima Springs, a lush oasis famed for crystal-clear waters inhabited by hippos and crocodiles.
Overnight: Tsavo West (Severin Safari Camp / Ngulia Safari Lodge / Similar)
Day 3: Tsavo West – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, drive to Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Kenya’s iconic elephant homeland, with breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting).
Expect large elephant herds, big cats, giraffes, hyenas, and abundant birdlife.
Overnight: Amboseli (AA Lodge / Kibo Safari Camp / Similar)
Day 4: Full Day in Amboseli
Spend the day exploring Amboseli’s diverse habitats, from swamps to dry lakebeds.
With Kilimanjaro as your backdrop, Amboseli offers some of the best wildlife photography opportunities in Africa.
Optional visit: Masai Village (extra cost).
Overnight: Amboseli
Day 5: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, drive through the Great Rift Valley escarpment to Lake Naivasha.
Arrive for lunch, followed by a relaxing afternoon.
Optional activities:
Boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see hippos and birds
Visit Crescent Island Sanctuary
Overnight: Lake Naivasha (Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort / Similar)
Day 6: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart for the world-famous Masai Mara, Kenya’s premier wildlife reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and more.
Overnight: Masai Mara (Sentrim Mara / Jambo Mara / Similar)
Day 7: Full Day in Masai Mara
A full day dedicated to exploring the rich wildlife of the Masai Mara.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives or a full-day exploration toward the Mara River.
Look out for the Big Five, large wildebeest and zebra herds, and the breathtaking savannah scenery.
Optional activities:
Hot-air balloon safari (pre-booking required)
Cultural visit to Masai Village
Overnight: Masai Mara
Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive as you exit the reserve.
Drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
